A Classic Color Combination For Spring

casual spring style

If I was forced to pick, I would have to say that my favorite color combination for spring is light blue & crisp white.  There’s something so classic & fresh about this pairing that always feels right – it has a slightly coastal vibe that’s equal parts breezy & chic and it looks great with natural glowing makeup & a pretty pink lip.

This tie-front blouse caught my eye because of the subtle stripes and pretty lace detail on the sleeves.  You can wear it with white or blue jeans and it would also be cute with shorts later in the season + it’s less than $15!  Note: although the website states the color is black/white, it reads more blue in person.  Other blue & white styles I’m loving right now include these wide leg pants, this lightweight blouse, this shift dress, this embroidered top, this belted midi dress, this floral blouse & this striped button-down.

This is my 3rd post in the We Dress America campaign in partnership with Walmart – it’s been so fun to hear all the feedback I’ve gotten from so many of you about the pieces you’ve purchased & are loving.  If you haven’t yet browsed their site & given it a shot, you can check out the best spring trends & their latest new arrivals here – most items come with free 2-day shipping!

I was pleasantly surprised by this denim – we all know that finding good white jeans is a challenge and I never would have thought that you could get a great-fitting pair for less than $25.  They have a good amount of stretch to them, but they’re a good thickness & not sheer at all!  Though it shows them rolled up on the model, the cuff isn’t sewn, so I unrolled mine before wearing for a little extra length (I’m 5’8″ for reference).  If you prefer more of a straight leg jean, these are the same brand & also get great reviews.

Melrose Ave Vegan Sandals

These sandals are exactly the kind of style that I could wear all season long – the color goes with everything, the block heel makes them appropriate for pairing with sundresses, jeans or shorts + they’re super comfortable (such a great buy for those of you searching for a versatile vegan option).

We shot these photos at Highland Botanical Park, which is one of my favorite places to visit in the spring.  The grounds are covered with blooming flowers, rhododendrons, hydrangeas and, later in the season, the lilac trees fill the park with the most intoxicating fragrance.
