After weeks of teasing, Rihanna finally revealed Fenty Beauty’s newest product launch—the Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler. And like the rest of the beauty maven’s makeup collection, there is an impressive range of colors—14 total—from a strawberry blonde to a cool jet black. The brand revealed more details about its first-ever brow product via Instagram, just ahead of the launch, which is, happily, tomorrow August 23.
The dual-ended pencil features a ultra-fine retractable tip (that means no sharpening) with a paddle brush (rather than your typical spoolie) on the other side. And while 14 colors may seem small compared to the 50 for foundation, keep in mind that most brands have only a handful of colors in either light or dark brown. Redheads and ashy brown babes, rejoice, because Riri has got you covered.
But it’s the brush that really had us falling head over heels for this pencil. Blending with a spoolie can create noticeable gaps between the hairs, a problem we didn’t seem to have with this product. The soft bristles allowed us to achieve the ideal wash of color and blend the edges without creating too harsh a line along the arch. It definitely creates a bolder brow than a more subtle, diffused look, but because the waterproof formula refused to budge throughout the day, your brows remain on point from morning to night. True set it and forget it status.
Considering that brows are vital to a polished makeup look, we’re surprised by how long it took for Fenty to release this formula, but given the quality, it seems well worth the wait. As Rihanna put it in the brand’s statement, “I’m obsessed with doing my own brows because it’s so personal and there’s a particular way I like them. I love this brow pencil because it gives you the ultimate control and makes it really easy to get any brow shape.”
