5 Things Fashion Month Street Style Influenced Us to Buy

As was the case with just about everything fashion-week-related this season, we weren’t really sure what to expect from street style. There were fewer in-person shows with even fewer attendees due to safety regulations, which meant a significantly smaller number of people traipsing from show to show.

Practical elements framed many of the looks and seemed to tame the bolder choices—fringe cut from neutral khaki or a funky blazer paired with simple leggings. The upside to all of this is how much more wearable many of the looks were—speaking of which, we’ve rounded up the top five things we saw, and unlike runway trends, you can shop them immediately!

Coordinated Separates

From suiting to coordinating knits, it seems matchy-matchy is a major theme this year, on both the runways and the streets. Showgoers scurried from show to show clad in head-to-toe knits, tailoring, and even plaid.

Lug Sole Boots

The lug-sole boots have been a fashion favorite for the past few seasons, ushered in by It brands like Bottega Veneta. This fashion month, we saw them everywhere (and on everyone) with shaft heights ranging from ankle- to knee-high, and everything in between.

Fringe of All Forms

Suede, khaki, leather, oh my! Fringe is a perpetual favorite of street-style stars as it always makes for a good in-motion shot. Favored by designers like Prada and, again, Bottega Veneta, the style appeared on the hems of skirts, trailing off purses, and adorning jackets.

Not Your Average Blazer

Blazers always have some sort of presence within the realm of street style, but it seems showgoers upped the ante this season. Forgo your typical navy, blue, and black, and instead opt for oversized plaid, ribbon embellishments, or eye-catching sleeves.

Masks, Masks, and More Masks

Masks are simply a part of life now—a fact that was evident in the street style across every country. Most showgoers kept their masks on the more minimal side so as not to pull attention from their look—think black, white, and even a few surgical blues.
