It’s been a while since I’ve done a fitting room try-on session and, given that our temps are well below zero, this seemed like the perfect week for some indoor outfit photos! Even though I’m personally not shopping right now, I know a lot of you are on the hunt for great spring finds for less, so I went to my local Old Navy to check out their new arrivals & share my favorites with you.
Right now is a great time to shop because they’re offering 25% off your online order including clearance (today only!) + you’ll earn $10 in Super Cash for every $25 you spend through February 1st. Read on for my full reviews & sizing details…
1) Mock Neck Ribbed Sweater // Mid-Rise Rockstar Jeans
This is such a great cozy sweater for wearing now & later – it comes in 6 colors but I loved this speckled neutral. It’s super soft & has a relaxed fit (I went with my usual size). Back in 2016, pretty much all my jeans were Old Navy Rockstar’s – they were my absolute favorite & I had them in every color. But then, they changed something with the fabric and they felt thinner & stretchier than before (more like jeggings), so I hadn’t bought any new pairs for the last couple years. I decided to give them a try again and I was so happy to discover that they switched them back to the old fabric blend! I will definitely be buying these once my shopping freeze is over – they have the perfect mix of structure & stretch (runs true to size).
2) Open-Front Cardigan // V-Neck Luxe Tee // Mid-Rise Rockstar Jeans
I was so thrilled to see a whole new bunch of my favorite Luxe tees on the racks yesterday. These have such a nice drape to them & the white isn’t see through at all! Because they’re a rayon/spandex blend, they wash really well & don’t shrink. I recommend sizing up in these tees unless you want yours more fitted – I personally prefer a slightly slouchy fit. These come in long sleeve v-neck, long sleeve crewneck, short sleeve crewneck, short sleeve scoop neck & scoop neck tank (available in tons of colors + tall and petite). Now is a great time to stock up on multiples while they’re on sale!
3) Twill Field Jacket // Crewneck Sweater // Mid-Rise Rockstar Jeans
I wear my olive green utility jacket a lot in the spring, but I like the idea of a lighter/softer hue like this blush pink. Pastels are a huge trend for the coming season & this one is under $30! I like that you can cinch the waist & that the cuffs have elastic so when you push them up, they actually stay up. I layered it over this space dyed sweater, which is a great wardrobe staple (both run true to size).
4) Wrap-Front Jumpsuit (in chambray & linen-blend stripe)
I couldn’t find this jumpsuit online in black so I’ll let you know once it gets added (or you can check your local store). But, I really love the other colorways it comes in & think it’s a super-flattering cut. This would be a great option if you’re nursing because there is a snap closure in front. If you have a longer torso like me, the regular sizing might not work for you. I found that it hit a little too high at my waist, which made the pockets a bit awkward to try to put my hands into. So, if I was ordering this online, I’d probably get the tall so it would better fit through the torso.
5) Striped Jumpsuit (also in solid blue) // Faux Suede Mules
This jumpsuit, on the other hand, fit me perfectly & basically felt like comfy pajamas! I think what makes this work well is that it’s fitted through the top, the waist is adjustable and the legs aren’t too loose. So, even though these are horizontal stripes, it creates a slimming effect. This would be so cute with these white sneakers or slide sandals (like these or these) for summer. I’d throw this denim jacket on top for those cooler days.
6) Open-Front Cardigan // V-Neck Luxe Tee // Button Fly Flare Ankle Jeans // Faux Suede Mules
I typically prefer longer cardigans, but the color of this one was too pretty to resist! I did go up a size to get a little extra length. This comes in 6 other shades – I also loved the gray speckled knit! I’m wearing it over my favorite tee again (tucked in this time) & I paired it with this button-fly denim, which are a nice change from my usual skinny jeans. The flare on these is really subtle & I loved the blackish grey wash – I’d recommend sizing down in these.
7) Chambray Shirt // White Button-Fly Ankle Jeans // Faux Suede Mules
This outfit is proof that well-done basics always look chic (I’d also add a printed neck scarf to this ensemble). I may have found the perfect white jeans & I could not be more excited about it! I am loving button-front denim right now & the fit on these is amazing (runs true to size). The hem has a little cutout slit detail with a raw finish & these are not see through at all! I also love that the pockets are made fro a nude fabric so they don’t show through. Needless to say, I’m running back to buy these in March when I can shop again!
8) Marled V-Neck Sweater // White Button-Fly Ankle Jeans // Faux Suede Mules
This marled sweater is such a pretty color for spring – the color is a little more saturated in real life vs. the online photo & it’s a really soft knit (runs true to size). Another way I’d style this is layered under this cream coat & paired with these gray jeans. Other lightweight sweaters worth checking out: here, here & here. And a somewhat random find was this pastel men’s sweatshirt – bought in a size small for my teenage daughter & she loved it!
9) Striped Wrap Top // White Button-Fly Ankle Jeans // Faux Suede Mules
This striped wrap top is so perfect for spring – very lightweight and slimming! It has a snap closure in front & elastic cuffs so you can push the sleeves up. It also comes in solid black & polka dots (here) – if you’re looking for a short-sleeve version, try this one. There were other tops I wanted to try that weren’t available in my local store – like this striped tunic, this crinkled blouse & this bell-sleeve top. I also wish this midi dress had been in stock because it looks so dreamy!
10) Chambray Shirt // Striped Long Sleeve Tee // Mid-Rise Pixie Chinos // Faux Suede Mules
Every year Old Navy comes out with a new version of their chambray shirt & this year’s is really good. Because I have broad shoulders & I prefer mine slouchy, I always size up. And if I’m ordering online, I usually get the tall because I like the longer length. This striped tee is such a great basic and it’s literally the softest material ever – it also comes in a navy & yellow stripe and it has great stretch to it (runs true to size).
11) Striped Twill Top // Mid-Rise Pixie Chinos // Faux Suede Mules
I love finding lightweight tops with great details – this one has pintucking around the neckline and cute little ties on the sleeves – great for work or weekend! This runs true to size & comes in 3 other print options here. The color of these pants instantly caught my eye – the hue looks different online, but in person they are a muted dusty rose. Also, the stripe down the side appears to be a lighter color in the picture on their website, but it’s actually the same color as the pants (which I think makes them more versatile). These are such a great casual alternative to denim and they will pair well with both neutrals & pastels for spring (runs true to size).
12) Open-Front Cardigan // V-Neck Luxe Tee // Mid-Rise Pixie Chinos // Faux Suede Mules
This is basically the most perfect cardigan ever – super soft, just the right length & it has pockets! I styled it above with jeans, but wanted to show it again because I love how nicely the color pairs with these pants. It also comes in a dusty mauve & a soft grey (runs true to size). Check out the other open-front cardigans I’m loving for spring here, here & here.
