Where You’ll Find Us During New York Fashion Week

If you’re not overly familiar with New York City, choosing the best neighborhood to stay in, eat at, and chill in can be a little overwhelming. Even more so if the time of year happens to be New York Fashion Week and the city is overflowing with fashion-industry folk running to and from shows, presentations, dinners, and after-parties. During this time it’s important to find an area with a little bit of everything so that you can lay your head, refuel, touch-up, and relax, all within a few blocks. Our go-to neighborhood is SoHo, and while it may sound typical, allow us to explain ourselves. Below, our four tried-and-true spots to get in all of these crucial activities in a timely manner.

STAY: NOMO SOHO

9 Crosby St.

First things first: You’re going to need a comfy-ass bed to lie in—or dive headfirst into—after running around all day to shows and presentations. Enter NoMo SoHo hotel, nestled between Howard and Grand on Crosby Street. To enter, you walk down a vine-covered walkway—complete with string lights so you truly feel like you’re in a fairy tale—past the hotel’s stunning restaurant, NoMo Kitchen, where you can dine under the restaurant’s sunroof. Head up the elevators, and you’ll find yourself in a white-and-royal-blue room (or the penthouse, if you’re ballin’) with floor-to-ceiling windows. The beds are unreal, some showers have windows looking out over the city, and the room-service menu is the perfect companion to the late nights and early mornings of fashion week.

REFUEL: CAFÉ LEON DORE

214 Mulberry St.

After being put onto the freddo cappuccinos here, we quickly became regulars at Café Leon Dore (a few of the baristas may or may not recognize us at this point). Located on Mulberry Street, right off Spring, the café is only a seven-minute walk from the hotel (five if you speed-walk), and it’s the best place to grab a coffee to go or take a few minutes to yourself at one of their tables that line the sidewalk (games are available at the counter). The café is attached to clothing store Aime Leon Dore, and we highly suggest taking a walk through the store. Who knowsyou may end up with a new piece for fall.

TOUCH-UP: GLOWBAR

147 Duane St.

There’s a new spa in town, and it’s only a 13-minute walk from the NoMo. It’s not just any spa, either; it’s Glowbar. For those not familiar, Glowbar offers 30-minute customized treatments with their aestheticians, who have undergone 600+ hours of training (talk about trustworthy). You start with a cleanse and then move on to a treatment that is picked specifically for you based on your skin’s needs. They have everything from chemical peels to extractions, microcurrent facials, and LED therapy. Become a member if you’re a regular to New York, or drop in for $65. It’s quite honestly the best thing for your skin before (or after) you run around the busy streets and subways of New York.

AFTER-PARTY: PRINCE STREET PIZZA

27 Prince St. A

Chances are very high that you already know of Prince Street Pizza, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be on our list of go-to spots, especially during fashion week, when it’s hard to fit in a decent-sized meal at any point of the day. Prior to heading back to your hotel (or after you go back to switch into cozy clothing—whichever you prefer), swing by for some hang time and pizza. The shop is always bustling with good people (and many famous ones!) that you can be sure to meet a friend or two between bites of gooey, delicious pepperoni pizza. You’ll get bonus points for “after-partying” at a pizza place for the sole fact that opting for pizza over alcohol means no hangover the next day.
