Marriages can be tough; especially on the bride and groom. Considering the number of things that the bride has to take care of before the big day even begins, it is understandable why this can be stressful for her to deal with. Not to mention how the common bridal trope is that of the Bridezilla. You probably think you’re a different type of bride, right? Maybe a special snowflake kind of bride. Well, read this list to find out if you or any bride you know fit into these categories:
1. The Perfectionist
Of course, this type of bride had to be the first on our list (she won’t settle for any less). There’s nothing wrong in being a perfectionist. It’s a superb trait to have in the long run and when it comes to planning things out. You’re probably that one friend who makes all the plans and keeps the itinerary on hand at all times. Despite hiring a wedding planner, you’re most likely going to ask them to take a back seat while you print out all the spreadsheets you’ve made regarding everything. Just make sure you don’t get caught up in the minor details and then end up missing the big picture.
2. The Party Queen
If “Now, the party don’t start till I walk in” was your senior quote, then you are this bride.
Remember how much you and your gal pals rocked the dance floor during college parties? Well, it’s your party now, and you and your girls need to ensure you dance till the crack of dawn. Your big day cannot just end with one teeny dance at the end! You will ensure you hire the best DJ in town and drink enough black coffee to keep you awake for two days straight.
3. The Serial Spender
“What do you mean by ‘You have a budget’?” If this is a line you’ve heard way too often, you’re probably a serial spender. Your wedding budget probably went down the drain when you spotted that gorgeous wedding venue that you knew your designer wedding dress would look fabulous in. If you’re blowing cash left, right and centre, you probably need to take a step back and take another look at your budget. It’s a good idea to download an app that lets you keep track of your budget.
4. The Drama Queen
While this is undoubtedly a step up from being called a Bridezilla, it’s not much of a compliment either. If you’re the type who cannot handle a fraction of things going awry, you should probably leave the wedding planning to your loved ones or a planner. It’s a good idea to keep Kleenex handy, especially when it’s time for you to say goodbye to your parents and friends.
5. The Forgetful One
Yes, it’s your big day. No, you can’t simply ‘forget’ to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wedding planning is an exhaustive business, and nobody is going to judge you for missing out on a few things or forgetting to handle something. Just make sure you don’t forget the ring!
6. The People Pleaser
Keeping everybody cheerful is the one thing you excel at, but on your big day, the only one who people should be pleasing is you. Sure, you’re the kind of person who excels during a time of conflict. Your ability to keep things under control and calm everyone down is often used against you, and you’re typecast into the role of people-pleasing. However, it’s important to remember that your wedding is your day (and your partner’s).
7. The Hopeless Romantic
You’ve known exactly what your wedding day was going to be like since you developed your first crush at the age of 5. Unfortunately for your friends, your idea of a perfect wedding hasn’t changed since that day either. They can expect themselves to be put in Disney-themed bridesmaid dresses and a lavish and grand white wedding. Keeping Cinderella as your idol, you’ve planned the wedding to a tee. You want your wedding to be so big, even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be jealous. And knowing you and the all-out hopeless romantic that you are, you’ve probably put aside your life savings to make sure you can fulfill your Disney fantasy.
