The new decade is finally here! And with it, comes a load of new responsibilities and duties for us to take on. 2020 is going to be one entertaining year with so many anticipated movies in the works and so many more being released in the first few months. It will especially be great seeing our favorite B-Town celebrities back to rule the big screen. From Kangana to Deepika to Ananya to Alia, this list will dish out all the dirt on their exciting 2020 endeavors. Stay tuned to find out more:
1. Kangana Ranaut

2019 was a big year for Kangana as her biographical movie on the Rani of Jhansi, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi received critical acclaim in the international market. The movie won Kangana praises for her acting prowess and powerful performance. The actress also starred in a black comedy called Judgementall Hai Kya opposite actor Rajjkummar Rao. The movie released to overwhelmingly promising reviews but didn’t exceed box office expectations. Despite the turbulence there, 2020 looks to be a good start for the talented actress. Her movie Panga, which is based on the life of a national level Kabbadi player, is to be released in the month of Jan. Kangana’s other movie Thalaivi, based on the life of Tamilian actress-turned-politician, J. Jayalalithaa is set to be released in June this year. Judging by the reaction to the trailers, we’re guessing the movie will end up being a major hit at the box office. And finally, she’ll be wrapping up the year with Dhaakad which is set to be released around the time of Diwali.
2. Sara Ali Khan

After bursting onto the big screen with Kedarnath in 2018, this stunning actress has not looked back. Kedarnath got Sara a Filmfare for Best Debut and the film performed phenomenally well at the box office. Her next movie, Simmba too did exceptionally well in terms of box office collection. This is a brilliant start considering that the actress has big shoes to fill out being the daughter of two of the biggest names in the industry, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. 2020 is set to be another dizzy of the year for the young starlet, with her movies Coolie No. 1 and Love Aaj Kal releasing in the months of May and February respectively.
3. Jahnvi Kapoor

The Dhadak actress is set to star in three huge movies in 2020. Her entry into the film industry in 2018 was set in front of a sad backdrop due to the loss of her mother, veteran actress Sridevi. Although heartbroken, the actress continued to follow her dreams and make her mother proud with her incredible performances. In March, the actress will be seen in her first movie based on a biography, Gunjan Saxena. Followed by which her movies Rooh Afza and Dostana are set to be released later in the year.
4. Alia Bhatt

The versatile actress stole hearts and delivered hits with her movies— Udta Punjab, Highway and Dear Zindagi, all performing exceptionally well at the box office. Alia is set to act in three major Bollywood films this year; the first being Brahmastra in which she’s sharing screen space with her rumored beau Ranbir Kapoor. Her movie Sadak 2 which will also feature her older sister Pooja Bhatt and will be directed by their father, Mahesh Bhatt is set to release mid-year. And she’ll finally top it all off with a role in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Gangubai Kathiawadi
5. Ananya Pandey

This bubbly young actress played the role of a confident woman in her film Pati Patni Aur Woh. The movie also featured industry newbie Kartik Aaryan and the talented Bhumi Pednekar. Ananya’s performance on the big screen garnered a lot of praise and we can’t wait to see what this stunning starlet has in store for us this year. The actress is set to star in Khaali Peeli opposite Shahid Kapoor’s mini-me Ishaan Khatter. The movie is set to be released on the 12th of June.
6. Deepika Padukone

The Padmaavat actress has had a crazy couple of years in B-town. Her latest movie Chhapaak is the story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and the emotional trailer of the movie stole the hearts of critics and fans alike. The actress will also be featured in the cricket-themed movie ‘83 with her other half Ranveer Singh. The movie will be based on India’s outstanding 1983 world cup win.
7. Taapsee Pannu

The Pink and Manmarziyaan actress is set to have two major releases this year. The first movie is titled Rashmi Rocket and is the fictional tale of a young Gujarathi girl who is a fast runner. She will also be starring in an Anubhav Sinha flick, Thappad. We can’t wait to see what this curly-haired bombshell actress has in store for her.
