Since it doesn’t look like schools will be re-opened before the end of the year & our kids can do their online classes from anywhere, we finally decided to bump up our move date…which means we will be leaving NY in just 2 weeks! My Dad has a surgery scheduled for May 19th and, if I’m being honest, that was a big factor in wanting to leave earlier than mid-June, which was our original plan. Needless to say, pretty much every day from here on out will be dedicated to packing & cleaning!
This week, I connected with a local non-profit who helps refugees & low-income families and I’m so thrilled that we will be able to donate the bulk of our furniture, kitchen appliances & household goods to them – it makes me so happy to know that they will be going to someone in need.
Unfortunately, the moving company we had planned on using fell through, so my brother & his oldest son offered to fly out to help us pack up the truck & drive all our vehicles back to Oregon. It’s going to be a crazy adventure, but one that I know we are all ready & excited for.
