The emergence of spring heralds similar behavior every year. The vast majority of us will stop at no lengths to soak up every possible ray of sunshine the daylight offers. The issue then lies in the discrepancy in temperature between the weather we dress for at the warmest hour of the day and the subsequent drop that follows hours later—has anyone else walked home from the park with their teeth chattering lately? Enter: the transitional weather jacket that should be carried at minimum and worn at best throughout the day. We're chatting with our staffers to gauge which jackets they're relying on to see them through this fickle transitional weather.

Type III Sherpa Trucker Jacket
My ride-or-die jacket for transitional weather—I've had this durable denim piece for years, and I cannot tell you how much I love it for days when there's still a chill in the air, but it's not cold enough for a full winter jacket. Also, pro tip: I prefer the men's version—it's a boxier and slightly longer cut, and I definitely recommend sizing up so you can layer over sweaters.
Leather Biker Jacket
OK, so yes, I do already own several black leather jackets, but none are as boxy as this gorgeous number. This paired with matching grey or beige sweats feels like a real ease-into-spring look. Who feels me?
Idris Waterproof Hooded Raincoat
Barbour is a 100-year-old heritage brand that has stood the test of time for a reason—their all-weather products are made to last. That said, I'm very into this army-green waterproof jacket of theirs that has lots of pockets (very, very essential for me) and a longer cut. I'll probably order several sizes up, as I love a roomier fit on outerwear.

Shangrila Puffer
I am obsessed with all the innovative outerwear styles from Yali Tribe. My most recent obsession? Their cross between a blazer and a puffer. As the jacket is a statement in itself, I plan on using it to dress up the simplest of ensembles—jeans, a white tee, and sneakers.
Kensington Utility Jacket
A great utility jacket is a staple in pretty much any wardrobe, regardless of personal style. This particular rendition from Canadian brand Ellie Mae Studios is the perfect weight for the weather right now, plus its sleeves are wide enough to house all of your chunky sweaters—a necessity pour moi.
Blackhorse Lane Denim Jacket
This jacket from sustainable brand Toast fills the role of denim jacket while circumventing the traditional hue/silhouette of the classic style that can sometimes feel a little tired. Another transitional-weather favorite, I've been donning it for my evening walks in the park as of late.

Hayden Wool & Silk Blend Jacket
I am all about all things oversize, especially outerwear. This dropped-shoulder, slouchy-fit jacket is the perfect transitional piece for brisk spring temperatures. It is an easy piece that can go over a hoodie with sweats for a coffee run or be dressed up with a slim-fit shirt to offset the oversize cut with a looser-fitting trouser. Ladies—this piece could be a staple for you, too!
Minard Jacket
I've been seeing the "shacket" basically everywhere as of late, and I have my eye on this AllSaints wool-blend option. It's a classic silhouette with the weight of a jacket that can be layered over thicker-cut sweaters or a plain t-shirt. I'd pair it with ivory trousers and a matching long-sleeve for a monochromatic moment.
Alan Parka
Completely practical and totally functional, a parka is a staple as I move into spring. I love the big pockets on this one with the contrasting silver snap details, and the hood—a must for those days when you're out and get caught in a random downpour with no umbrella.

2-in-1 Raincoat
This is either my spring soul mate or just a newly discovered must-have wardrobe staple. I can't wait to pair it with sweatshirts and white sneakers this season. There's also just something a little bit daring about a bright white raincoat. It might even encourage me to venture outside on those less-than-sunny days.
Roz Drawstring Peplum Jacket
I'm 100 percent always on board for tailored, flattering pieces in standout hues. So it was honestly love at first sight with this jacket. The color is perfect, too—it might just be the antidote for any spring style slump.
Oversize Denim Jacket
My spring uniform typically consists of oversize denim jackets draped on top of tank tops and short shorts. So every year I tend to add another denim piece into my weekend style rotation. This year I'm all about this exceptionally light wash. Bonus? It's a total steal.

Woven Box Shoulder Trench
What even is spring without a great trench? Every year I search high and low for the perfect coat, only to enter summer empty-handed. This season, however, I think I found the one—a perfectly slouchy silhouette with a snatched waistline and padded shoulders. Swoon!
Fleece Jansport Jacket
To be completely honest, 75 percent of the time I leave my apartment I'm in some form of athletic wear. While an actual workout may be missing from my schedule, there's no denying that the leggings-and-fleece combo has become my daily uniform. That being said, it's time I upgrade my go-to fleece to something a bit elevated. An oxymoron, sure, but there's no denying Sandy Liang makes the chicest jackets, and it's time I own one.
Oversize Leather Jacket
Over the holidays, I inherited (OK, stole) my aunt's leather jacket from the '80s. Only until recently have I been able to wear it outdoors, as it's the perfect antidote for those slightly overcast spring days. Plus, pretty much everything looks chic underneath an oversize leather jacket—jeans, leggings, pajamas, you name it.
