Coveteur has teamed up with Amazon’s The Drop to create a nine-piece collection of wardrobe must-haves. According to Editor-in-Chief, Jessica Teves, the goal in doing so was, “to create an accessible line of everyday closet essentials that features finely tuned details and refinement, anchoring them in an individual's style arsenal.” Over the past few months the editorial team parsed through tons of inspiration to create pieces that could transcend the boundaries of one individual’s closet.
The collection has nine pieces which include a pair of wide-leg trousers, a wide-leg trouser that converts to a jogger, a button-down shirt, a bodysuit, a trench coat, and a printed matching set (shirt and pants). In lieu of trendy silhouettes, the Coveteur editorial team opted for seasonless silhouettes and materials. “Trends have value, sure,” explains Teves, “but we're more about expression and personal interpretation. For us, adding refined pieces into the mix that people could wear forever was a big North Star.”
When it comes to something timeless, the importance of quality equates that of long-lasting design. “We had a lot of conversations about infinite wearability and staying away from trends,” she continues, “but we also talked about details—a lot. Buttons, pleats, weight of material, etc; we discussed it, and that's why it's so good.”
Once the foundation of these great staples has been laid, it’s time for the fun part: the styling.
For this, Teves prefers simplicity. “Lug sole boots, the khaki wide leg trousers, crop top, and oversized blazer,” she suggests. “It's easy, but also very me.” Said trousers are her favorite piece in the collection. “The wide leg pleated pants—they're perfect, and I'm ordering four pairs for myself,” she adds. “Run, don't walk on those.”

The khaki trousers are oversized in silhouette (though the pleat gives them a distinctly modern flair). We suggest leaning into the exaggerated structure by embracing the menswear connotation. Look 2:
A khaki trench coat can essentially pair with anything in your closet. However, we love the contrast between the utilitarian outerwear with something slinky and feminine—i.e. this simple tank dress. The lug sole boot then weighs down the neutral pieces.

Brown is having a moment and for good reason; we love this rich chocolatey hue. So why dilute it? We paired this fabulously comfortable pant with a simple tube top in a corresponding shade. Then did the same with menswear-inspired accessories: loafers and a wide brim hat. To transition the look for colder temperatures, simply layer a blazer or sweater over the top.

The beauty of a matching set is that it’s ripe with styling potential. Wear the pieces separate from each other. Wear them together. In this case, we kept them in tandem but shook things up with a few additional separates. The shirt is easily unbuttoned to reveal a tube top beneath and then an oversized blazer as outerwear adds much-needed dimension.

Though historically professional in nature, button downs can be worn with anything and everything in the context of modern style.
