Here’s What Coveteur Editors Wear When They’re OOO

It’s that time of year: cordial coffee dates are slowly being replaced with patio reservations and afternoon Aperol spritzes. (It’s not day drinking, it’s European.) Despite the erratic weather at the beginning of spring, we’re finally seeing flirty hemlines and pops of color replace the drab, bulky layers of New York’s “Q1” style. As we start shopping for the imminent approach of Summer Fridays, we’re filling our carts with bold colors, barely-there sandals, mesh, and more. It's time to make space in our closets for the warm weekends ahead. From Memorial Day sale finds to versatile sundresses, here’s what Coveteur editors wear when they’re out of office.

Woven In Gold Grand Collar Necklace

This necklace is lighter than air with an epic presence. I’m calling it now: this will be the statement piece of the summer.

Leather Crossbody Bag

Sustainable luxury in a bold cherry-red?? It’s already in my cart.

Melao Bikini Set

I’ll be ushering in the season with over-the-top bikini bandeaus and high-waisted retro bottoms from the beach to the pool and, if possible, the office.

Hook and Eye Tunic

I found this iconic tunic from the Spring ’23 collection for a disgustingly low price on The RealReal, and I can’t stop wearing it. It works on its own as a mini dress but also looks great over a wide-leg khaki pant or a black column skirt à la the runway styling.

Metal-Accent Leather Belt

I just scored one of these via eBay, and I’ve been wearing it with everything—striped button-downs, white maxi dresses, etc. It's a perfect layering staple that doesn’t add weight to an ensemble.

Brushed Calfskin Derby Lace-ups

I have the studded version of these, but I am itching to add the simple black rendition to my collection. (I am obsessed with all Church’s footwear, so I wouldn’t mind adding a few other styles into the mix, too.) I think they would look great sockless with an array of midi and mini dresses all summer.

Paige Kowal, Account Manager

Tommy Beaded Bag in Swimmers Print

When the heat makes putting together an outfit feel like a chore, let the accessories do the talking.

Egret Feminine Buckle Slingback Pumps

Summer shoes are tricky when you live in a city, but an off-white sling-back is the perfect shoe for the warmer months. As someone whose first choice of footwear is almost always a sneaker, these might just break me out of my comfort zone.

Relaxed Blue Striped Shirt

I felt it was necessary to include at least one practical item on my summer wishlist, and you can't go wrong with a striped button-down. It can be worn to the office with a pair of trousers or tossed over a bikini for the perfect cover-up, making it a staple that can find its way to your capsule wardrobe every week of the year.

Hilary George-Parkin, Managing Editor

Fisherman Embossed Leather Sandals

I suspect that once I own these sandals, they’ll never come off my feet, but I’m willing to take that risk. I like the orange colorway for a zippier take on a neutral.

Ilaria Necklace

I bought this a few weeks ago and am so pleased with my purchase; it’s satisfyingly hefty but not so heavy that it weighs my neck down. Plus, it provides a nice gritty counterbalance to gauzy T-shirts and soft knitwear.

Piqué Sport Skirt with Liner

Tennis season, finally! I’m dreading the lines at the courts post-Challengers, but at least I have a great excuse for a new outfit.

Katie Mok, Editorial Assistant

Cotton Poplin Tie String Mini Dress

I’m leaving my work laptop at home and setting up my OOO auto-reply. With Summer Fridays kicking in, this dress will be crucial in any weekend bag I’m packing this season.

After Sun

I burn easily, so I often find myself slathering on aloe vera gel. Do we all love the smell of aloe or is it a Pavlovian response for me? This scent from Vacation is going to satisfy my aloe kick all summer.

High Rise Loose Jeans

Call me crazy for wearing full-length denim in the summer, but the office AC is out of control.

Lauren Malanga, Campaign Manager

Mallory Dress

Being from LA, I count down the days until I can throw on an easy dress and sandals and run out the door. While I admire the layered look on others, the thought and effort that goes into that process (leggings under jeans, a long-sleeved shirt with a sweater and scarf) is just not something I see myself romanticizing anytime soon.

Re-Nylon Mini-dress

As much as I advocate for a throw-on summer dress, I do have a soft spot for flattering little mini dresses you can wear with loafers or sneakers and a scrunched crew sock. (I know I’m dreaming big on this one.)

Napoli Cherry Loafer

I just got these in white and walked out of the store knowing that it would be a crime if I didn’t come back for the cherry color. I tend to gravitate towards easy-to-wear basics, and a fun shoe can elevate even the blandest of outfits.

Tom Lyon, Marketing and Design Coordinator

Studios Cap

I can’t stop thinking about this Acne Studios cap! The combination of sage green and mustard yellow creates a perfect colorway for the season.

Algir Bag

Nobody wants a bulky everyday bag during the summer, but I have a solution. Whether you’re strolling through a city or going on a coastal hike, the lightweight Klättermusen Algir bag is ideal for carrying all your essentials.

Sunglasses

I strongly believe in a good pair of sunglasses, and these Saint Laurent shades are no exception. The timeless design with a clear frame creates a modern look for any occasion.
